Viator (meaning “Traveler” in Latin) is a rules-lite universal RPG system. Rules-lite means that it doesn’t rely on a huge book of rules; all you need to play is the two page core rulebook and a few six sided dice! Universal means that the game system can work in nearly any style or setting.  Also check out the eight premade settings below for rich worlds and plenty of GM resources!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Labyrinth, the newest suppliment, is both a game and a lore dump. On the rules side, the Labyrinth contains multiple ways to create diverse dungeons, filled with enemies, traps, and loot. On the story side, the Labyrinth ties together all other Viator releases and provides a lore-friendly way to bring existing characters between all different suppliments - and any other setting you want!

The Labyrinth contain:

  • Information about the Labyrinth, the ever shifting maze that sits right behind our reality and connects it with every other possible world,
  • Simple yet classic character options for a nostalgic experience,
  • Two methods for generating dungeons, and robust tables for filling out rooms and encounters,
  • Elegant formats for creating puzzles and traps, along with advice on making them fun and interesting,
  • Example monsters, puzzles, and traps, meant to inspire creativity,
  • Random tables for creating magic items with various power levels,
  • And rules for moving characters between dimensions / suppliments / settings as a Traveler (which is where the name of the game came from!)!

Check out the list of settings here!

The Labyrinth: A classic dungeon-crawling experience set in an ever shifting maze. It can act as a standalone one-shot generator, or tie the other released settings together with multiversal lore and traveling rules!

Rainy Ruins: Play as post-apocalyptic scavengers in the ruins of Seattle, dealing with several factions each trying to rebuild society amidst flooding and radiation. Gather gear, loot supplies, and get ready to fight, because anything goes in the new world.

Norrvei: A rich setting of political intrigue and mysticism, where players navigate a Scandenatian nation caught between tradition and innovation. Players take on the role of the Blessed, following their dreams at the behest of a curious god.

The Mongolian Plains: Play as survivors navigating a desolate, war-torn world that's been ravaged by the Mongols. Exploration, alchemy, and resistance define this harsh, nomadic landscape, where bandits, monsters, and Mongol patrols are constant threats.

Starbound: You finally have a ship of your own, and you're off to see the stars! Take on dangerous jobs in order to upgrade your vessel and explore vast megacities, abandoned colonies, and mysterious Golden Age structures.

Bordeaux: Set in a single French city, players take on the role of rebels fighting back against the dystopia they find themselves in. Brain eating worms, hauty bourgeoisie, and electrified walls combine into a tense and dangerous story.

Shining Seas: Embark on an adventure across the Aegean Sea, fighting pirates, invading troops, and mythological monsters along the way. Use the random island generator to create hundreds of unique stops, as you search for treasure and deal with problems all across the sea.

Steel March: Suit up and get ready to hit the battlefield, as you play as members of the Holy German Army fighting back against Russian-created warbeasts. Earn your stripes as you go on deployments, and if you're lucky, you may be able to wear a Panzerframe into battle against building-sized beasts.

Spheres of Terror: A satire setting based on the 9/10/2024 presidential debate. It aims to answer one question: what would the world be like if everything Trump claimed was true?
